Citrus County Resident Shares Thoughts on Smartphones, Bryant Park

A Citrus County resident recently shared their thoughts on how smartphones could have changed their life in the late ’70s and ’80s. The resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, wrote in to the Citrus County Chronicle about how having access to smartphones during their youth could have provided them with valuable skills and knowledge.

The resident stated that they could have taken online courses to learn a trade, such as plumbing, and gained experience before applying for jobs. This would have given them an edge in the job market, as many employers required two years of experience for entry-level positions. Instead, the resident had to work manual labor jobs for minimum wage and often had to work under the table to make ends meet. The resident also expressed frustration with the government taking $40 a week from their paycheck, which made it even harder to get by.

The resident also wrote about Bryant Park in Crystal River, suggesting that it could be improved with a few simple changes. They proposed removing the three queen palms in the middle of the park and installing soccer goals at each end. This, they believe, could make the park more attractive to young people and families.
