On Monday night, April 15, 2024, at 6:00 PM, at the Citrus County Historic Courthouse, 1 Court St, Inverness, FL 34470, four candidates vying for the District 4 seat on the Citrus County Commission shared their visions and qualifications with local residents.
The candidates, including incumbent Commissioner Jeff Barnes, and challengers John McIntosh, Scott Fisher, and Bill Wills, discussed their plans for the county, highlighting issues such as growth management, infrastructure development, and community services. The meeting was moderated by Citrus County Supervisor of Elections, Tom Adams.
The District 4 seat is currently held by Commissioner Jeff Barnes, who is seeking re-election. Barnes, 62, has served on the commission since 2016 and has been a strong advocate for rural areas and infrastructure development.
During the forum, each candidate was given the opportunity to present their opening and closing statements, as well as answer questions from the audience. The questions ranged from topics such as economic development, public safety, and transportation.
