The Betz Farm proposal has returned to Citrus County, with a new plan for the development of the historic farm. The proposal was previously discussed in 2020, but was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The new proposal, which was presented to the Citrus County Planning Commission on January 10, 2023, at 3:00 PM, at 904 W. Main St., Inverness, includes plans for a mixed-use development with residential, commercial, and agricultural components. The proposed development would be located on approximately 140 acres of land near the intersection of Northeast 1st Avenue and Northeast 116th Street in Crystal River.
Citrus County remains out of the storm’s path, according to the latest weather forecast. The county is not expecting any major weather events in the near future, which is good news for residents and businesses.
The Betz Farm proposal has been met with both support and opposition from the community. Some residents are in favor of the development, citing the potential economic benefits and increased property values.
