Weeki Wachee Hornets Shut Out Wesley Chapel Wildcats 33-0

On Monday afternoon, the Weeki Wachee Hornets (3-0) recorded their second 30-plus point shutout of the young season with their 33-0 victory over the Wesley Chapel Wildcats. Receiver Milana Baltyk hauled in a trio of touchdown tosses from quarterback Karly Pasmore in the first half alone as the Hornets built their entire 33-point lead in the opening 24 minutes.

Head Coach Billy Hughes praised Baltyk’s hard work and chemistry with Pasmore, saying, “[Baltyk] is a good receiver. She has been playing her butt off. We are really glad she puts in the time and the effort. Her hard work is showing off. Her and the quarterback have a great connection already. They are all smiles… We are really proud of how she is coming along.” The home team got the scoring started early with a quick, five-play drive on their opening possession that ended with the first of Baltyk’s three touchdowns midway through the first frame.

After a three and out for the Wildcats, the Hornets got right back to work with a six-play drive. The only offensive score that did not go to Baltyk, Pasmore’s 17-yard pass to the back corner of the end zone landed in the outstretched arms of receiver Ionnah Leverock. Two plays later, Hornets OLB/WR Naomi Diaz would record her first of two interceptions (one returned for touchdown) on Wesley Chapel quarterback Violet Capps.

The floodgates opened from there as Weeki scored a touchdown to Baltyk on the very next play and 27 points in the second stanza alone. Coach Hughes called Diaz an “all around great kid” and praised her attitude and work ethic in preparing for opposing offenses. It was not just her, either. Defensive coordinator Glenn Toy’s squad kept the visitors off the scoreboard entirely even after substituting starters.
