VA Clinic Proposal Moves Forward in Citrus County

The proposed VA clinic in Citrus County has taken a significant step forward. On Monday night, the Citrus County Board of Commissioners voted to approve the lease agreement for the clinic, which will be located at 1005 NW 16th St, Inverness.

The clinic, which is expected to provide medical services to local veterans, will be operated by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. According to Citrus County Administrator, Tom Adams, the clinic will offer a range of services, including primary care, pharmacy services, and mental health counseling. The VA has committed to a 10-year lease agreement, with an annual rent of $144,000. The clinic is expected to serve around 4,500 veterans in the area.

The proposal for the VA clinic has been in the works for several years, with local veterans and officials advocating for the facility. “This is a great day for Citrus County and for our veterans,” said Commissioner, Janet C. Smith. “We are proud to be able to provide this important service to those who have served our country.” The clinic is expected to be open by early 2024, with a projected start date of January 15, 2024, at 8:00 AM.

The VA clinic will be a significant addition to the area, providing much-needed medical services to local veterans. According to the VA, the clinic will have a team of 10 staff members, including doctors, nurses, and administrative staff. The clinic will also have a parking lot with 50 spaces.
