Thousands Attend Brooksville’s Second Annual Tangerine Festival

Downtown Brooksville was packed on Saturday, February 7, 2026, as thousands of residents and visitors filled the streets for the Second Annual Tangerine Festival. The daylong celebration of the city’s citrus heritage featured live music, food vendors, family activities, and a classic car show. The free festival stretched across the downtown area and centered on two stages of live entertainment.

At the Hernando Park Bandshell, Draw 4 and Actual Bank Robbers played throughout the day. Along Main Street in front of the courthouse, the “Hometown Headliners, Rising Stars” stage ran from late morning into the evening, featuring a rotating lineup that included Joe Solomon and Jenn Reilly, Irelynn, Zachary Westervelt, and performers from Jayne’s Dance Academy. Between sets, festivalgoers browsed the Tangerine Treasure Market, which filled the streets with local artists, crafters, and retail vendors selling everything from handmade jewelry and artwork to custom clothing, home décor, and specialty gifts.

Nearby, a large kids’ area kept families busy with a bubbles station, inflatable axe-throwing, an inflatable basketball game, and a giant slide, while Brooksville Tattoo offered children free tangerine-themed tattoos. Christopher Rhodes, Board President of Brooksville Main Street, introduced the Tangerine Royalty Pageant at the festival. Wingate Farms sold 1,500 pounds of tangerines by 2 p.m., and organizers said the farm plans to bring 3,000 pounds next year. The timing can be challenging, however, as peak tangerine season usually ends by early February.

Floyd & Associates also drew attention with its booth selling small Satsuma tangerine plants. The nursery, based near Darby, Florida, gave visitors a chance to take a piece of citrus country home with them. “It’s been a good day. Sold maybe a couple hundred trees,” John Floyd said.
