On Tuesday, March 3, 2026, the Springstead High School softball team secured their fifth consecutive win, defeating Weeki Wachee High School 17-2. The Eagles, led by junior pitcher Madison Mayon, dominated the game from the start, taking a 9-0 lead into the second inning. Alivia Miller, a 6th grader, delivered a first-inning grand slam, contributing to the team’s momentum.
The game was played at Weeki Wachee High School, with Springstead High School’s Assistant Coach Abby Oliver expressing satisfaction with the team’s performance. “We’re glad they came out strong and hit the ball. Moving forward, we’ll keep that momentum going with the positive energy from the team,” said Oliver. The Eagles’ winning streak continues to grow, while Weeki Wachee struggles to find their groove.
Springstead High School’s softball team has been working on building their drive and positive energy in practice. The team’s strong attitude and performance have contributed to their undefeated record. The Weeki Wachee High School softball team, on the other hand, faces challenges in finding their rhythm.
