Hernando County, FL – Are you ready to add a furry friend to your family? Look no further than Hernando County Animal Services, located at 19450 Oliver St. in Brooksville. This week, the shelter is featuring two adoptable pets: Emil Lilebark, a 6-year-old scent-driven dog, and Bella, an 8-year-old playful companion.
Emil Lilebark (A004581) is a handsome 6-year-old boy who loves to put his sniffer to work. He thrives on nature trails, where every new smell is an adventure waiting to be discovered. Emil already knows basic commands like “sit” and “shake,” and he takes treats like a gentleman. He listens well and is eager to please, but he can get excited on a leash and may pull at first. With a quick pause and a calm “sit,” he resets beautifully and is ready to continue the walk. Emil is current on vaccines, microchipped, and neutered, and he comes with a one-year Hernando County License.
Bella (A004579) is an 8-year-old playful companion who recently enjoyed some time out of the shelter in a “cold front” foster home. She’s a happy, wiggly love bug who greets you with a wagging tail and usually a toy in her mouth. Bella loves tossing her toys up in the air and catching them herself, and she’s also a total cuddle bug who thrives on one-on-one attention. In the home, Bella was housebroken and enjoyed relaxing inside while being part of daily routines. She also loves following scent trails and putting that nose to work. Bella seems to be dog social, and meet-and-greets with other dogs are encouraged with slow, thoughtful introductions.
To schedule a meet and greet with Emil or Bella, call Hernando County Animal Services at 352-796-5062. The shelter is located at 19450 Oliver St. in Brooksville.
