The community came together to celebrate the life of Pastor Larry Powers, a man of deep faith, love, and prayer, at a memorial service held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the Inverness Church of God, 2050 W. State Road 44, Inverness, Florida.
Powers, 75, was a beloved pastor, husband, and father, who touched the lives of many in Citrus County and beyond. He passed away on January 15, 2024, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Born on August 10, 1948, Powers dedicated his life to serving God and his community. He served as a pastor for over 40 years, including 20 years at the Inverness Church of God.
The memorial service was attended by hundreds of people, who shared stories, sang hymns, and prayed for the Powers family. The service included eulogies from close friends and family members, who remembered Powers for his kind heart, his love of prayer, and his dedication to his congregation.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Pastor Larry Powers Memorial Fund, which will support the Inverness Church of God’s community outreach programs.
