The Hernando Builders’ Association Parade of Homes is set to take place from February 13 through March 1, 2026, offering potential homebuyers the opportunity to explore 29 new model locations, either physically or virtually. This year’s event features 16 builders, including several new and returning crews, with a focus on modern homebuyer sensibilities.
Halie Eaton, Parade of Homes Chair and Probuilt US Vice President, expressed excitement for the upcoming event, highlighting the increased number of participating builders and new trends in home design. “We are really excited for this year,” Eaton said. “Lots of homes and several new builders, especially new builders to this area, too, who have not been here before, have not participated before. So, we are really excited to have some new builders join, so there are even more options for customers to look at.”
The newest incarnation of the Parade of Homes has seen some new trends emerge. Beyond houses generally becoming more energy-efficient across the board, prospective home buyers have begun searching for domiciles that have lofts, second stories, or dedicated office spaces. With many individuals still working remotely post-pandemic, more families are deciding to forgo a fourth or fifth bedroom and choosing an office instead. “A lot of people are working from home still,” Eaton added. “They need stuff like that.”
The difference between a dedicated office and bedroom comes down to the size and the presence (or lack) of a closet. These “flex spaces,” as Eaton referred to them, are becoming increasingly popular among homebuyers. M/I Homes of Tampa’s Corina III Bonus (Model No. 14) is one example of a home featuring such a flex space.
