Nature Coast Tech Wrestler Dominic Buckwalter Achieves 100th Win

Brooksville, FL – Nature Coast Tech wrestler Dominic Buckwalter reached a milestone in early February, logging his 100th win during a tournament at The Villages. The senior Sharks captain secured his 100th win by pinning his opponent from Tavares High School in the first period.

Buckwalter’s path to 100 wins was marked by challenges, including two torn labrum injuries that required surgery and cost him an entire season. Despite the setbacks, he persevered and has now achieved 102 wins and counting. His father, Chris Buckwalter, expressed pride in his son’s grit and determination, saying, “Super proud of everything he has done, because he has had to work super hard to get this hundredth win. The type of kid he is, he will be losing a match 13-2 and getting his butt kicked, and he will never ever quit fighting.”

Dominic Buckwalter began wrestling at the age of five and earned the role of captain three times. His father noted that Dominic is “getting to the point where he dislocates his shoulder every week,” but he continues to rest and recover quickly. The milestone win was celebrated with his opponent, who asked to take a photo with Buckwalter and his poster, jokingly referring to himself as Buckwalter’s “hundredth victim.”
