Thomas Todd, a resident of Hernando County, has made a remarkable recovery from heart failure and is now back to doing what he loves – golfing. On May 28, 2025, Todd attended a planning meeting with his community theater group, the Heritage Headliners, in Hernando County to plan their annual spring musical, Let’s Go to the Movies. Later that evening, he began feeling short of breath and experienced a dull ache in his back.
Todd, who had been smoking for 50 years, had been experiencing fatigue, shortness of breath, and struggled to finish golf rounds, attributing it to the Florida heat and getting older. However, his condition worsened, and his heart function dropped to less than 20%. Doctors intervened, and despite the odds, Todd survived. He is now back on the golf course, taking swings and enjoying the game he loves. Todd’s golf game has been a part of his life for decades, and he is thrilled to be back at it.
Todd’s story serves as a reminder of the importance of seeking medical attention when experiencing unusual symptoms. His recovery is a testament to the advances in medical care and the power of determination. Todd’s return to golf is a significant milestone in his recovery, and he is grateful to be back to doing what he loves.
