The Citrus County Abuse Shelter Association (CASA) is seeking donations of daily items to keep its pantry stocked. The shelter needs household and cleaning supplies, including trash bags, latex gloves, Lysol spray and wipes, laundry detergent, and dish sponges. Personal care items such as diapers (size 7 – Pampers preferred) and kids’ underwear (girls 2T-5T) are also needed. Additionally, the shelter is in need of pantry and food items like eggs, butter, sugar, cooking oils, kid-friendly drinks, milk, cheese, fresh fruits and vegetables, lunch meat, kids’ snacks, chicken or ground chicken, beef or ground beef, pork or ground pork, ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard, Ranch and other salad dressings/condiments, and cooking spices.
To make it easier to donate, CASA has created an Amazon Wishlist: a.co/c6Wobgs. Donations can be dropped off at the CASA Outreach office between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, at 1100 E. Turner Camp Road, Inverness. TOOFAR will stage a fundraiser sale on February 13-14 at their headquarters building, 9228 E. Gospel Island Road, Inverness, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Profits from the sale will go toward environmental scholarships for youths, supporting local youth fishing tournaments, the Academy of Environmental Science, and other environmental projects.
Citrus Hills Women’s Club Inc. (CHW) is also hosting a bunco tournament. For more information on the event, contact the club.
