Inverness Rolls Out ‘Mini Cootertober’ in March

Inverness, Citrus County – Get ready for a month of festivals, music, and family fun in Inverness. The city’s Parks and Recreation department has planned a series of mostly free events, dubbed “Mini Cootertober” or “Cootertober 2.0,” to take place throughout March.

The idea, unveiled during Tuesday night’s Inverness City Council meeting by Parks and Recreation Director Woody Worley, is to replicate the success of Cootertober, a month-long celebration in October. Worley said the city looked at a major event in October that lasted just one weekend and surrounded it with other festivals, smaller activities, and community partner events, turning it into a full month of programming. The goal is to provide something for everybody in the family at no cost. The events will kick off with a senior-focused activity and include various festivals, music performances, and family-friendly activities.

Some of the events include:

  1. Inverness St. Patrick’s Day Festival
  2. Other festivals and music performances
  3. Family-friendly activities

For more information on the events, residents can contact the Inverness Parks and Recreation department.
