A Hernando County couple was arrested in a raid on a drug house in Spring Hill on Monday, March 16. Hernando County Sheriff Al Nienhuis said Ryan Perez, 44, and Adina Perez, 43, were taken into custody at their home on Utah Street in Spring Hill.
The raid was part of a three-county drug investigation that involved the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and other law enforcement agencies. The DEA obtained search warrants for two businesses owned by Ryan Perez, The Hippie Crib #1 on Nebraska Avenue in Tampa and The Hippie Crib #2 on Armenia Avenue in Tampa. A cache of drugs and paraphernalia was found at the Utah Street residence.
The investigation was conducted by the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, the DEA, and other law enforcement agencies. The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Unit, led by Lt. Brandon Cox and Sgt. Harper, assisted in the raid. Special Agent Danny Escobar from the Tampa Division of the DEA also participated in the investigation.
The charges against the Perez couple were not specified in the release. The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the case.
