Hernando County has implemented the Tyler Enterprise Permitting and Licensing System to modernize how residents and businesses apply for permits and licenses throughout the county. The new digital platform replaces the previous paper-based system and aims to reduce processing times while improving customer service for residents in Brooksville, Spring Hill, Weeki Wachee, and surrounding areas.
The Tyler Enterprise system allows applicants to submit permit requests online, track application status in real-time, and receive automated updates throughout the review process. County officials expect the system to significantly reduce wait times for construction permits, business licenses, and other regulatory approvals that previously required multiple in-person visits to county offices.
Hernando County joins numerous Florida municipalities that have adopted Tyler Technologies’ permitting solutions to enhance government efficiency. The system includes features for online payment processing, document uploads, and digital plan reviews, which should particularly benefit contractors and business owners who frequently interact with county permitting departments.
County staff will provide training sessions for residents and businesses transitioning to the new system. The Hernando County website now features detailed instructions and video tutorials to help users navigate the Tyler Enterprise platform. Officials encourage early adoption of the digital system while maintaining traditional in-person services during the transition period.
