Charlie Dean Sr., a former Citrus County Sheriff and Florida State Senator, died on Monday night. Dean, who served as Sheriff from 1985 to 1993 and as a State Senator from 1993 to 2001, was 79 years old at the time of his death.
The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office announced Dean’s passing on Tuesday morning. According to the office, Dean died at his home in Inverness, Florida. No cause of death was provided.
In other news, the Inverness IGC lot will close temporarily for resurfacing. The closure is scheduled to begin on Wednesday at 6:00 AM and is expected to last for several days. During this time, customers will need to use alternative routes to access the area.
