Jacquelynn E. Muncy, a teacher at Brooksville Elementary School, was recognized as the Hernando County School District’s Veteran of the Month. Muncy served 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps before becoming a teacher.
Muncy graduated from basic training at Parris Island, S.C., and went on to have a distinguished career in the Marines. She was honored at the Hernando County School Board meeting, where students from Westside Elementary School led the Pledge of Allegiance and introduced themselves.
During the meeting, other students were also recognized for their achievements. Jamie O’Connor, a Fox Chapel Middle School student, was acknowledged for helping a fellow student in distress.
The Hernando County School District is proud to have Muncy as a teacher and a veteran. Her dedication to education and her country is an inspiration to her students and colleagues.
