Florida Attorney General Ashley N. Moody has asked a judge to halt court cases filed by a Florida roofing company that sued more than 250 of its own customers. The company, which has faced a civil lawsuit from the Florida Attorney General’s Office, now has a new legal hurdle.
The Attorney General’s Office filed a motion on January 15, 2026, with the Florida Division of Administrative Hearings, seeking an emergency order to stop the roofing company, Allstate Roofing LLC, based in Citrus County, from filing additional lawsuits against its customers. The company, which operates in multiple counties including Hernando, Pasco, and Citrus, allegedly filed over 250 lawsuits against its customers, many of whom were already involved in a civil lawsuit against the company.
The lawsuits claimed that customers owed for roofing work that was either not done or was defective. However, the Attorney General’s Office argues that the company’s actions constitute an “abusive and unfair” business practice. “This company has shown a clear disregard for Florida law and a blatant disregard for its own customers,” Attorney General Ashley N. Moody said in a statement.
The Attorney General’s Office has also accused Allstate Roofing LLC of violating Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act. If the judge grants the motion, the company will be prohibited from filing additional lawsuits against its customers.
Customers who have been sued by Allstate Roofing LLC can seek help from the Attorney General’s Office. More information can be found on the office’s website.
