Lewis and Young Entertainment present “Love, Lies & the Doctor’s Dilemma,” opening April 3 at the Valerie Theatre in downtown Inverness. The farce, written by Michael and Susan Parker, features Holly Sherwood as Joan Scheller, a woman who keeps one-upping her own fibs as she tries to protect her son from a mob boss, prevent her sister from learning about her live-in lover, and stave off a nosy neighbor who has an affection for Joan’s special brownies.
The play’s cast includes Nick DiMartino as Vinny, the Enforcer, Rachel Vazquez as Joan’s sister, and Freedom as Chris, Joan’s son. The production also features Bob Goethe, Tanika Clayton-Henry, and Tim Stuart. Holly Sherwood describes Joan as “kind of one of the straight characters,” but promises “I’ve found the funny.” Sherwood says, “the most absurd things (Joan) will do to protect her son.” For instance, when Vinny comes searching for Chris, Joan finds a disguise that transforms Chris to Christina.
The play’s production team includes Harry Lewis and Young. The show runs for 3 minutes, according to the original source.
