On Saturday evening, a golf cart carrying a family and a teenage neighbor overturned after colliding with another vehicle, injuring eight people. The incident occurred around 8:00 PM on Elam Road in Wesley Chapel, Florida, which is located in Pasco County. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 43-year-old Wesley Chapel man was driving the golf cart eastbound in a designated golf cart lane.
The golf cart was traveling behind a Honda Accord driven by a 27-year-old Wesley Chapel woman. The accident caused the golf cart to overturn, resulting in serious injuries to all eight occupants. The victims included the 43-year-old driver, his family members, and a 15-year-old teenage neighbor. All eight individuals were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the collision. Preliminary reports indicate that the Honda Accord was traveling at a speed of approximately 30-40 mph when it collided with the golf cart. The impact caused the golf cart to roll over, resulting in the injuries.
