A disturbing case of animal neglect has led to the arrest of a Floral City woman after deputies found dozens of dead animals on her property. According to Citrus County deputies, the suspect, identified as 52-year-old Karen Sue Post, was taken into custody on February 18.
The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office received a tip about possible animal neglect at a property in Floral City, which is located in Citrus County, Florida. Upon investigation, authorities found multiple dead animals, including dogs, cats, and other creatures. The exact number of deceased animals was not released, but it is reported to be in the dozens.
The authorities have charged Post with multiple counts of animal cruelty and neglect. The case is ongoing, and further charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
