A disturbing case of animal neglect has led to the arrest of a Floral City woman. On Monday, January 15, 2024, Citrus County deputies responded to a report of a large number of dead animals at a property in Floral City. Upon arrival, they found dozens of animals, including dogs, cats, and other small animals, dead and decomposing.
The owner of the property, 22-year-old Alexis N. Roberts, was arrested and charged with multiple counts of animal cruelty and neglect. According to deputies, the animals had been left without food or water, leading to their deaths.
