Citrus County deputies have arrested a Floral City woman after dozens of animals were found dead on her property due to neglect. The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office received a tip on January 15, 2023, about possible animal neglect at a property in Floral City. Deputies responded to the scene and found multiple dead animals, including dogs, cats, and horses.
The property owner, 52-year-old Lisa G. Miller, was arrested and charged with multiple counts of animal cruelty and neglect. Deputies said they found over 50 dead animals on the property, with many more still alive but in distress. The animals were taken into custody by the Citrus County Animal Control and are receiving medical attention.
The investigation is ongoing, and deputies are working to determine the extent of the neglect and how long it had been occurring. The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information about animal neglect or abuse to contact them at (352) 749-3111.
