Dozens Attend Law Enforcement Meet-up in Citrus County; Inverness Substation to Open to Visitors

Dozens of people came out to meet with law enforcement at a recent coffee event in Citrus County. The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office hosted the meet-up, which allowed residents to ask questions and get to know the deputies serving their community. The event was well-attended, with many residents taking advantage of the opportunity to interact with law enforcement in a casual setting.

In related news, the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office will open its Inverness substation to visitors on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, Feb. 22-24, as part of its Cold Weather Shelter program. The shelter will provide a warm and safe place for those in need during the cold weather. The Inverness substation is located at 2050 SE 5th St, Inverness, FL 34401.

The Cold Weather Shelter program is a collaborative effort between the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office and other local agencies to provide shelter and support to vulnerable populations during extreme weather conditions. The program aims to provide a safe and warm place for those in need, and it is open to anyone who requires shelter during the designated hours.
