Crystal River Woman Dies in Inverness Wreck on U.S. 41

A 68-year-old Crystal River woman died in a traffic accident on U.S. 41 in Inverness on Monday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred at around 10:30 p.m. on U.S. 41, near the intersection with Southeast 5th Avenue. The victim, whose name has not been released, was driving a vehicle that crashed and overturned. FHP reported that the woman suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash. No other vehicles were involved, and no other injuries were reported. The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of family members.
