A Cold Weather Shelter will be open Sunday-Tuesday, Feb. 22-24, in Citrus County. The shelter will provide a safe and warm place for those in need during the cold weather.
The shelter will be located at the Citrus County Health Department, 806 S. Pine Ave, Inverness. Hours of operation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. each day. The shelter is a collaborative effort between Citrus County, the City of Inverness, and local non-profit organizations.
Residents can also donate warm clothing, blankets, and other essential items to the shelter. Those in need of shelter or wanting to donate can contact the Citrus County Health Department at (352) 589-3400.
