Cold Weather Shelter Open in Citrus County

The Cold Weather Shelter in Citrus County will be open on Sunday-Tuesday, February 22-24. The shelter provides a safe and warm place for residents to go during extremely cold weather.

The shelter is located at the Citrus County Fairgrounds, 3201 S. State Road 44, Inverness. The hours of operation are 6:00 PM to 7:00 AM each night. Residents can come to the shelter for a warm meal and a safe place to rest.

The Citrus County Cold Weather Shelter is a collaborative effort between the Citrus County Board of Commissioners, the American Red Cross, and other local organizations. The shelter is equipped with cots, blankets, and warm clothing to help keep residents warm and comfortable.
