The Cold Weather Shelter in Citrus County will be open from Sunday to Tuesday, February 22-24. The shelter, located at the Citrus County Fairgrounds, 3201 S. State Road 44, Inverness, will provide a warm and safe space for those in need during the cold weather.
The shelter will be open from 6:00 PM to 8:00 AM each night, and will offer food, blankets, and other essential services. The shelter is a collaborative effort between the Citrus County government, the American Red Cross, and other local organizations. Anyone in need of shelter during this time is encouraged to visit the fairgrounds.
Citrus County officials urge residents to check on vulnerable neighbors, especially the elderly and those with disabilities, during this cold weather.
