Charles S. “Charlie” Dean Sr., 86, died Monday, Feb. 23, at his farm in Inverness, Citrus County. He was born May 31, 1939, in Jacksonville, and was raised in Inverness by his parents, Citrus County Sheriff Charles Simeon Dean and Inverness City Commissioner Frances Dean.
Dean was a lifelong resident of Citrus County and a well-known figure in the community. He was a farmer and a businessman, and he served in various roles in local government and civic organizations. His funeral arrangements and survivors will be announced at a later date.
