Brooksville Man Arrested for Sexually Battering Autistic Stepdaughter

A Brooksville man is facing felony charges after detectives say he sexually battered his 19-year-old autistic stepdaughter. According to reports, deputies were dispatched just before 11:30 p.m. on February 23 after the victim’s mother reported that she caught her fiancé in the bathroom with her daughter while the teen was showering.

The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office responded to the home in Brooksville, where the victim’s mother stated she walked in on her fiancé, whose name has not been released, and her 19-year-old daughter in the bathroom. The victim claims she had been asleep when her stepfather entered the bathroom while she was showering. The stepfather is accused of sexually battering the victim, who has autism.

The suspect was taken into custody and is being held at the Hernando County Detention Center. He faces charges of sexual battery on a person with a mental disability and is being held on no bond. The investigation is ongoing, and detectives are working to gather more information.
